Mechanism of action

Immunostimulating drug of plant origin. Active components of Echinacea purpurea juice are derivatives of caffeic acid (chicory acid and its esters) and polysaccharides (4-O-methyl-glucurono-arabinoxylan and arabino-frame-galactan), which increase the activity of nonspecific defense factors of the body. The drug stimulates the phagocytic activity of granulocytes and macrophages, and also causes an increase in the number of lymphocytes in the human body, thereby inhibiting reproduction and contributing to the destruction of microorganisms.
The drug has antiviral activity against influenza viruses and herpes due to the derivatives of caffeic acid, which are part of the juice of Echinacea purpurea.

Adverse Effects

Allergic reactions: in rare cases - a rash, hyperemia of the skin, angioedema of the face, bronchospasm, arterial hypotension.
