Mechanism of action

Afobazole - a derivative of 2-mercaptobenzimidazole, selective anxiolytic, not belonging to the class of benzodiazepine receptor agonists. Interferes with the development of membrane-dependent changes in the GABA receptor.
It has anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) effect and a light stimulating (activating) effect. It does not have a hypno-sedative effect (sedative effect is manifested in doses 40-50 times higher than the ED50 for anxiolytic action).

Reduction or elimination of anxiety (anxiety, premonitions, apprehension, irritability), tension (fearfulness, tearfulness, anxiety, inability to relax, insomnia, fear), somatic (muscle, sensory, cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal symptoms), vegetative (dry mouth, sweating, dizziness), cognitive (difficulty concentrating, impaired memory) disorders observed at 5-7 days of treatment with Afobazole. Dosage and administration
