Active ingredient and dosage form

Zocor Forte - tablets:

1 pill contains Simvastatin 40 mg; in a blister strip packaging 14 pcs., in a box of 1 or 2 packs.

Mechanism of action

Hypocholesterolemic. Zocor Forte restricts cholesterol synthesis in the initial stages by blocking 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase.

Indications and usage

Hypercholesterolemia, ischemic heart disease, cerebral arteriosclerosis. Reducing the risk of general and coronary mortality in patients with coronary artery disease.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity (to any of the components of the drug), liver disease in an active form, a persistent increase in transaminase levels in plasma of unknown etiology.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

During pregnancy, Zocor Forte is contraindicated. Breastfeeding during treatment is not recommended.

Adverse reactions

Dosage and administration

Prior to the use of Zocor Forte, the patient should be prescribed a standard hypocholesterol diet, which the patient must follow during the entire course of therapy. Recommended doses range from 5 to 80 mg. Frequency of admission 1 time / day. in evening time. When selecting a dose, a change in the dosage regimen should be carried out at intervals of not less than 4 weeks. The maximum daily dose is 80 mg.

Special notes

Before and during the entire course of treatment with Zocor Forte, the patient must be on a cholesterol diet. Zocor Forte should be prescribed with caution to patients abusing alcohol and / or having a history of liver disease.

During therapy with Zocor Forte, a transient moderate (less than 3 times) increase in transaminase activity, which is asymptomatic and does not require discontinuation of the drug, is possible.

Storage conditions
