Chlorhexidine is an antiseptic. Chlorhexidine is active against vegetative forms of gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, as well as yeast, dermatophytes and lipophilic viruses. It acts on bacterial spores only at elevated temperatures. Cleans and disinfects the skin without causing its damage.
