Composition

1 pill contains:
active ingredients: alpha-dihydroergocriptine mesylate 4 mg, caffeine 40 mg;
Excipients: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, Magnesium stearate, anhydrous colloidal silicon dioxide

Mechanism of action

Included in Vasobyl alpha dihydroergocriptine - dihydrogenated derivative of ergot - blocks alpha1- and alpha2-adrenoreceptors of vascular smooth muscle cells. It has a stimulating effect on the dopamine and serotonin receptors of the central nervous system.
When using the drug, platelet and erythrocyte aggregation decreases, the vascular wall permeability decreases, blood circulation and metabolic processes in the brain improve, and the resistance of brain tissues to hypoxia increases.
CaffeineIt has a stimulating effect on the central nervous system, mainly on the cerebral cortex, respiratory and vasomotor centers. Increases mental and physical performance, reduces the feeling of fatigue.

Pharmacokinetics

When taken orally, the absorption of dihydroergocriptine is accelerated in the presence of caffeine (time to reach a maximum concentration of 0.5 hours).

The maximum concentration after oral administration of 8 mg of a-dihydroergocriptine is 227 pg / ml, and the half-life is less than 2 hours.

Vazobral indications for use

• decrease in mental activity, impaired attention and memory, impaired orientation in space, caused by age-related changes;
• cerebrovascular insufficiency (including due to cerebral atherosclerosis);
• effects of cerebral circulation;
• migraine prophylaxis;
• vestibular and labyrinth disorders (dizziness, tinnitus, hypoacuse) of ischemic genesis;
• Meniere's disease;
• retinopathy (diabetic and hypertensive);
• disorders of the peripheral arterial circulation (Raynaud's syndrome and disease);
• venous insufficiency.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug; pregnancy; lactation period.

Dosage and administration

Inside (with meals, with a small amount of liquid), 12-1 pill 2 times a day. Duration of treatment is 2-3 months, if necessary, treatment can be carried out 1-2 times a year.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

There is no clinical data on the use of Vasobral during pregnancy and lactation. The use of the drug during breastfeeding can lead to a decrease in lactation.

Side effects

Gastrointestinal: rarely - nausea, epigastric pain, dyspepsia.
From the side of the central nervous system: rarely (no more than 1%) - dizziness, headache, agitation.
Cardiovascular: very rarely (no more than 0.1%) - tachycardia, arterial hypotension.
Allergic reactions:very rarely (no more than 0.1%) - itchy skin, rash.

Special notes

Vasobral has a vasodilating effect, without affecting the systemic arterial pressure. Appointment of Vasobyl patients with hypertension does not exclude the need for the use of antihypertensive agents. Caffeine contained in the drug can cause sleep disturbance, tachycardia.

Drug interaction

With the simultaneous appointment of vazobrala and antihypertensive drugs may develop arterial hypotension. Caffeine weakens the effect of hypnotic drugs.

Overdosage

Symptoms - increased severity of side effects. Symptomatic treatment.
