Metrodent dental gel 20g

Pharmachologic effect:
Metrodent - antimicrobial and antiseptic for local use in dental practice. The effects of the drug are associated with Metronidazole and chlorhexedine.

The antimicrobial effect is due to the effects of metronidazole, which is a derivative of nitroimidazole. Metronidazole inhibits the chain of nucleic acid formation, which causes the death of the microbial agent. The bactericidal effect is manifested in relation to the simplest and spore-and non-spore-forming obligate anaerobic microorganisms.
The bactericidal properties of the drug are also associated with the effects of Chlorhexidine, which belongs to the biguanide derivatives and has a broad antimicrobial activity. In the presence of pus and blood, high pharmacological activity is maintained. It acts against grams (-) and grams (+) of bacteria, dermatophytes, yeast, lipophilic viruses.

Metrodent, when used topically, creates higher concentrations of drug components in the lesion areas than when orally taking metronidazole. Due to local use, there is no absorption in the body.

Indications for use:
- Infectious and inflammatory changes in the periodontal and oral mucous membranes:
gingivitis, an acute and chronic process;
- atrophic gingivitis;
- Vincent's gingivitis;
- periodontitis, acute and chronic process;
- periodontitis;
- periodontal abscess;
- aphthous stomatitis;
- Toothache (as a result of the infectious process).

Mode of application:
For local use. After brushing your teeth, apply the gel on the gum edge or the affected parts of the oral cavity for half an hour, then rinse your mouth. Use twice a day. The course of procedures - 2 weeks.
