Mechanism of action

Snoop Spray nasal - a vasoconstrictor with alpha-adrenomimetic activity for local use in ENT practice.

Xylometazoline causes a narrowing of the blood vessels of the nasal mucosa, eliminating swelling and hyperemia of the nasal mucosa, restores the passage of the nasal passages, facilitates nasal breathing.

The effect of the drug occurs within a few minutes after its use and lasts for several hours.

Indications and usage

Acute respiratory infections with rhinitis.
Acute allergic rhinitis.
Pollinosis.
Sinusitis.
Eustachyit.
Otitis media (as part of combination therapy to reduce swelling of the nasopharyngeal mucosa).
Facilitate rhinoscopy and other diagnostic procedures in the nasal passages.

Contraindications

Arterial hypertension.
Tachycardia.
Pronounced atherosclerosis.
Glaucoma.
Atrophic rhinitis.
Thyrotoxicosis.
Surgical interventions on the meninges (in history).
Pregnancy.
Hypersensitivity to the drug.

CHD (angina).
Prostate hyperplasia.

Diabetes mellitus.
During lactation.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Use of the drug during pregnancy is contraindicated.

Dosage and administration

Children under the age of 6 years are prescribed 1 injection of snoop nasal spray 0.05% in each nostril (if necessary, can be repeated) 1-3 times / day.

The drug should not be used more often 3 times a day. The duration of treatment is no more than 5-7 days.

In children under the age of 2 years, only 0.05% solution of the drug should be used.

Adverse reactions

Respiratory: with frequent and / or long-term use - irritation and / or dryness of the mucous membrane of the nasopharynx, burning, sneezing, hypersecretion; rarely - swelling of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity.

Nervous system: with frequent and / or long-term use - headache, insomnia, vomiting, blurred vision, depression, paresthesia.

Cardiovascular: rarely - palpitations, tachycardia, arrhythmias, increased blood pressure.

Drug Interactions

The drug is incompatible with MAO inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants.

Overdosage

Symptoms: increased side effects.

Treatment: symptomatic, under medical supervision.
