Mechanism of action

Combined preparation for the treatment of acne for external use, the active ingredients of which are adapalen and clindamycin.

Adapalen is a retinoid metabolite that has anti-inflammatory and pronounced comedonolytic activity (affects open and closed comedones) action, normalizes the actinification and epidermal differentiation processes. The mechanism of action of the drug is based on the binding of adapalene to specific nuclear receptors of retinoic acid. Adapalen normalizes the process of differentiation of epithelial cells of the follicles, thus reducing the formation of microcaedons. Suppresses chemotaxis and chemokinetic reactions of polynuclear cells in humans, and also inhibits the metabolism of arachidonic acid and the formation of inflammatory mediators. Thus, it can be said that, under the influence of adapalene, the cell-mediated inflammatory component of acne decreases.

Clindamycin is a bacteriostatic antibiotic from the group of lincosamides, has a broad spectrum of activity, binds to the 50S subunit of the ribosomal membrane and inhibits protein synthesis in the microbial cell.Clindamycin phosphate after application to the skin is rapidly hydrolyzed by phosphatases in the ducts of the sebaceous glands to form clindamycin, which has antibacterial activity. The sensitivity of all studied strains of Propionibacterium acnes to clindamycin in vitro (MIC 0.4 μg / ml) was shown.

Dosage and administration

Outwardly. Before using Klenzit-C gel, you must clean and dry your skin. With a light touch, apply the gel evenly on the affected skin once a day before going to bed, avoiding contact with the eyes and lips.

The therapeutic effect develops in 1-4 weeks. The course of therapy is 2-4 weeks. Persistent improvement occurs after 3 months of treatment. Repeated courses of treatment - after consulting a doctor.

Use the drug only according to the method of use and in those doses that are specified in the instructions for use. If the gel is applied excessively, the positive effect does not come faster.

Contraindications

Special notes

In the initial stages of treatment, an acne aggravation may occur, which disappears during treatment. If skin irritation occurs, stop using the gel (temporarily or completely).

Avoid contact of the drug with the eyes, mouth, nasal cavity and other mucous membranes.In case of accidental ingestion of the drug in the eyes, mouth or nose, immediately rinse them with warm water.

Excessive exposure to sunlight or UV radiation should be avoided. In the case of a long stay in the sun should not be applied gel the day before, as well as on the day of solar exposure and the next day.

The simultaneous use of cosmetics with a drying or irritating effect (for example, cologne, perfume and other alcohol-containing products) is not recommended.

When external use of clindamycin cases of diarrhea and colitis are extremely rare, however, caution should be exercised, and the development of severe or prolonged diarrhea should be discontinued and, if necessary, appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic measures should be taken. Pseudomembranous colitis can appear both on the background of long-term use, and 2-3 weeks after stopping treatment; manifested by diarrhea, leukocytosis, fever, abdominal pain (sometimes accompanied by discharge with feces of blood and mucus). If these phenomena occur in mild cases, it is enough to cancel the treatment and use of ion exchange resins (Kolestiramine, Colestipol), in severe cases, it is shown to replace the loss of fluid, electrolytes and protein, the administration of Vancomycin orally or Metronidazole. It is impossible to use agents that inhibit intestinal peristalsis.
