Active ingredient and dosage form
Exifin tablets:
1 tab. contains Terbinafine hydrochloride 281.31 mg (corresponds to 250 mg of terbinafine), excipients: MCC; sodium starch glycolate; pregelatinized starch; Magnesium stearate; colloidal anhydrous silicon
in the blister 4 pcs.; in a pack of cardboard 4, 5, 7 or 10 blisters.
Ekzifin - cream: 1 g contains a terbinafine hydrochloride of 10 mg, excipients: cetyl alcohol; stearyl alcohol; cetyl palmitate; benzyl alcohol; sorbitan monostearate; isopropyl myristate; sodium hydroxide; polysorbate 60; purified water; in tubes of 10 g; in a pack of cardboard 1 tube.
Mechanism of action
Exifin has antifungal effects.
Indications and usage
Exifin tablets:
mycoses of the scalp (trichophytia, microsporia);
skin and nail mycoses due to Trychophyton (T. rubrum, T. mentagrophytes, T. verrucosum, T. violaceum), Microsporum (M. canis, M. gypseum) and Epidermophyton floccosum;
onychomycosis;
severe, widespread dermatomycosis of the smooth skin of the trunk and extremities, requiring systemic treatment;
candidiasis of the skin and mucous membranes.
Cream Exifin (prevention and treatment):
fungal infections of the skin, incl. mycoses of the feet ("fungus" of the foot), inguinal athlete's (tinea cruris), fungal lesions of smooth skin of the body (tinea corporis) caused by Trichophyton (including T. rubrum, T. mentagrophytes, T. verrucosum, T. violaceum), Microsporum canis and Epidermophyton floccosum;
yeast infections of the skin, mainly those caused by the Candida genus (for example, Candida albicans), in particular diaper rash;
versicolor versicolor (Pityriasis versicolor), caused by Pityrosporum orbiculare (also known as Malassezia furfur).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any component of Exifin;
Exifin tablets:
children's age up to 2 years, because there is not enough data on the use of the drug in children weighing less than 12 kg;
pregnancy;
breastfeeding period.
Cream Exifin:
- liver and / or renal failure;
- alcoholism;
- tumors;
- metabolic diseases;
- inhibition of bone marrow hematopoiesis;
- occlusive vascular diseases of the limbs;
- children's age up to 12 years (lack of sufficient clinical experience).
Adverse reactions
Exifin tablets: side effects are usually moderate and mild and temporary.
On the part of the digestive system: often - a feeling of a full stomach, dyspepsia, nausea, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, diarrhea; not often - a violation of taste perception, incl. loss of taste, which is restored within a few weeks after cessation of treatment; rarely - cholestasis, jaundice, hepatitis, asymptomatic increase in the level of liver transaminases. Despite the unproven causation of these disorders with the use of terbinafine, in case of development of hepatobiliary dysfunction, treatment with Exifin should be stopped.
From the side of the central nervous system: rarely - paresthesia, hypoesthesia, dizziness; very rarely - depression, anxiety.
On the part of the musculoskeletal system: often - arthralgia, myalgia.
On the part of the hematopoietic system: very rarely - neutropenia, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia.
On the part of the immune system: often - urticaria, erythema multiforme; rarely, systemic allergic reactions (reactions like serum sickness, angioedema); very rarely, severe skin reactions (toxic epidermal necrolysis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, photosensitivity). With the progression of skin rashes, treatment with terbinafine should be discontinued.
Others: often - headache, feeling unwell, feeling tired; very rarely - exacerbation of psoriasis, increased hair loss.
Cream Exifin:
In places of application - redness, itching or burning sensation; allergic reactions.
Dosage and administration
Exifin pills are taken orally. The duration of the course of treatment and the dosage regimen are set individually and depend on the localization of the process and the severity of the disease.
Adults: the usual dose - 250 mg (1 tab.) 1 time per day.
Exifin cream is applied externally. Before applying the cream must be cleaned and dried the affected areas. The cream is applied 1-2 times a day with a thin layer on the affected skin and surrounding areas and lightly rubbed. For infections accompanied by diaper rash (under the mammary glands, in the interdigital spaces, between the buttocks, in the groin area), the places of application of the cream can be covered with gauze, especially at night.
The average duration of treatment: dermatomycosis of the trunk, lower legs - 1-2 weeks 1 time a day; dermatomycosis of the feet - 2-4 weeks once a day; skin candidiasis - 1-2 weeks 1 or 2 times a day; lichen-colored lichen - 2 weeks 1 or 2 times a day.
Storage conditions
In the dark place at a temperature of no higher than 25 ° C. Shelf life - 3 years.
