Synthomycin liniment 10% 25g

Composition

Chloramphenicol (synthomycin), castor oil.

Pharmacology

It has a high antibacterial activity against pathogens of wound infections and various purulent-inflammatory processes. It is active against most strains of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms resistant to penicillin, tetracyclines, sulfanilamides; helps to cleanse and heal burn purulent wounds and trophic ulcers, accelerates epithelization.

Indications and usage

used to treat purulent wounds, purulent-inflammatory diseases of the skin and mucous membranes, pustular skin lesions, furunculosis, carbuncles, for the treatment of non-healing ulcers, II-III degree burns, nipple cracks in puerperas.

Dosage and administration

Used externally. Liniment impregnated with gauze swabs or put the drug directly on the affected area or wound. From above impose a usual bandage. When the nipples are cracked, after each feeding of the child, the nipples of the mammary glands are washed with a 0.25% solution of ammonia, a thick layer of liniment is applied to the crack on a sterile napkin.

Contraindications

Individual intolerance to synthomycin or chloramphenicol, pregnancy.

Storage conditions

In a cool, dark place.
