Composition:

One pill contains

active ingredient - tizanidine hydrochloride 2,288 mg (corresponds to 2 mg of tizanidine) and 4.576 mg (corresponds to 4 mg of tizanidine)

excipients: anhydrous lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, silica gel, stearic acid.

Description:

Round white pills with embossed "N" and "62" (for 2 mg) or embossed with "N" and "63" and a risk (for 4 mg) on ​​one side.

Pharmacological properties:

Pharmacokinetics:

Tizanidine is rapidly and completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. The maximum plasma concentration is reached in 1-2 hours. Simultaneous food intake does not affect the pharmacokinetic parameters of the drug. Plasma protein binding is about 30%. The metabolism is carried out in a liver, metabolites do not possess the expressed pharmacological activity. Tizanidine and its metabolites are excreted through the kidneys by 70%. The half-life is 3-5 hours.

Pharmacodynamics:

A muscle relaxant centrally acting. Reduces increased tone and relieves spasm of skeletal muscles, reduces muscle resistance during passive movements, increases the strength of arbitrary contractions. The muscle-relaxing effect of tizanidine is probably due to the inhibition of spinal polysynaptic reflexes, which is associated with a decrease in the release of excitatory amino acids from the presynaptic terminals of spinal interneurons, as well as stimulation of a2-adrenoreceptors.Tizanidine does not affect the transmission of excitation in the neuromuscular synapses.

Indications:

- spastic condition of skeletal muscles caused by neurological diseases (multiple sclerosis, chronic myelopathy, stroke, degenerative diseases of the spinal cord)

- painful spasm of skeletal muscles caused by damage to the spine (cervical and lumbar syndromes) or arising after operations (for herniation of the intervertebral disc or osteoarthritis of the thigh).

Dosage and administration:

To stop the painful spasm of skeletal muscles, use 2-4 mg 3 times / day; in severe cases, it is additionally recommended to take 2-4 mg at night.

In spastic conditions of muscles caused by neurological diseases, the initial dose is 6 mg / day, divided into 3 doses. The dose is gradually increased by 2-4 mg / day every 3-7 days. The optimal therapeutic effect is usually achieved with a dose of 12-24 mg / day, divided into 3-4 doses. Do not exceed the dose of 36 mg / day.

Side effects:

Contraindications:

- hypersensitivity to tizanidine

- pregnancy and lactation

Drug interactions:

With simultaneous use with antihypertensive agents, (includingwith diuretics) may develop severe hypotension and bradycardia. With the simultaneous use of ethanol, drugs with a sedative effect increases the sedative effect.

Special instructions:

It is used with caution in patients with impaired liver and kidney function.

Effects on the ability to drive a vehicle or potentially dangerous machinery: At the beginning of treatment, when drowsiness occurs, activities requiring high concentration of attention, quick psychomotor reactions should be avoided.

Overdose:

Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, arterial hypotension, dizziness, miosis, respiratory disorders, coma.

Treatment: gastric lavage, the introduction of Activated carbon, forced diuresis. It is necessary to control the vital functions of the body, ensuring the normal functioning of the cardiovascular system.
