Active ingredient and dosage form

Atoris film-coated tablets:
1 pill contains 10; Atorvastatin Calcium 20 or 40 mg;
10 or 30 pieces packaged.

Mechanism of action

Atoris has a cholesterol-lowering, hypolipidemic effect.

Indications and usage

To reduce serum levels of total cholesterol, LDL-C, LDL, apolipoprotein B, and triglycerides in patients: with primary hyperlipidemia (types IIa and IIb according to Frederickson); familial heterozygous hypercholesterolemia; mixed hyperlipidemia;
to lower plasma elevated levels of total cholesterol, LDL-C and LDL and apolipoprotein B in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia.

Contraindications

hypersensitivity to any of the components of Atoris;
liver diseases in the active stage (including active chronic hepatitis, chronic alcoholic hepatitis);
liver failure;
cirrhosis of the liver of any etiology;
increased activity of hepatic transaminases of unclear genesis;
skeletal muscle diseases;
pregnancy and lactation, as well as use in women of reproductive age who do not use adequate methods of contraception;
age up to 18 years (efficacy and safety of use have not been established);
galactosemia (because the drug contains lactose) or glucose impaired glucose / galactose syndrome, lactase deficiency.

Dosage and administration

Inside, regardless of the meal, one time (at any time of the day, but at the same time), every day.
The recommended starting dose of Atoris is 10 mg daily. Depending on the desired effect, the daily dose may be increased to 80 mg.

Adverse reactions

On the part of the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system: headache, dizziness, asthenic syndrome, insomnia or drowsiness, nightmares, amnesia, paresthesia, peripheral neuropathy, emotional lability, ataxia, hyperkinesia, depression, hypesthesia, weakness, malaise.
From the senses: amblyopia, tinnitus, dry conjunctiva, disturbed accommodation, bleeding in the eyes, deafness, glaucoma, parosmia, loss of taste.
Since the cardiovascular system: palpitations, vasodilation, migraine, postural hypotension, increased blood pressure, phlebitis, arrhythmia, chest pain, vasculitis.
From the hemopoietic system: anemia, lymphadenopathy, thrombocytopenia.
On the part of the respiratory system: bronchitis, rhinitis, dyspnea, bronchial asthma, nosebleeds.
On the part of the digestive system: nausea, heartburn, constipation or diarrhea, flatulence, gastralgia, abdominal pain.

Special notes

Before starting treatment with Atoris, the patient should be prescribed a standard cholesterol-lowering diet, which he must follow during the entire period of treatment.
An increase in the activity of liver enzymes in the serum can be observed during the treatment with Atoris. This increase is usually small and has no clinical significance. However, it is recommended to monitor the activity of liver enzymes in the serum before treatment, after 6 and 12 weeks and with an increase in the dose of atorvastatin. If there is a three-fold increase in the activity of ACT and / or ALT, relative to the upper limits of the norm, the treatment with Atoris should be stopped. Atorvastatin can cause an increase in the activity of creatine phosphokinase and aminotransferase.
In women of reproductive age who do not use reliable contraception, the use of Atoris&№174; is not recommended. If the patient is planning a pregnancy, she should stop taking Atoris at least a month before the planned pregnancy.
