Composition

1 dose of lyophilisate for preparation of oral and topical solution contains: live bifidobacteria not less than 10 to 7 degrees.
Excipients: components of the drying medium: gelatin, sucrose, skim milk.

Mechanism of action

Bifidumbacterin is a microbial mass of living, antagonistically active bifidobacteria strains of Bifidumbacterium bifidum No. 1, 791, LVA-E, lyophilized in a culture medium with the addition of a protective sucrose gelatin medium. The therapeutic effect of Bifidumbacterin is determined by the live bifidobacteria contained in it, which have antagonistic activity against a wide range of pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic microorganisms and thereby normalize the intestinal microflora, improve the activity of the gastrointestinal tract, metabolic processes, prevent the formation of prolonged forms of intestinal diseases, increase the nonspecific resistance organism. Bifidumbacterin dry is intended for the treatment of children and adults. Children (including premature) drug can be used from the first days of life.

Indications and usage

In diseases of the gastrointestinal tract: 
- Prolonged intestinal dysfunctions of unknown etiology.
- Acute intestinal infections (in the complex treatment of acute dysentery, salmonellosis, escherichiosis, viral diarrhea, etc.), long-term intestinal dysfunctions of staphylococcal etiology, as well as treatment of convalescents after acute intestinal infections with continuing bowel dysfunction.
- In the complex treatment of children (including newborns, premature babies): patients with pneumonia, sepsis and other purulent-infectious diseases, for preventing or stopping their bowel function disorders and preventing the development of necrotizing enterocolitis.
- In children with a burdened premorbid state: born prematurely or with signs of prematurity; receiving antibiotics in the early neonatal period; children whose mothers suffered from severe toxemia, extragenital diseases, had a long anhydrous period or other pathology; children of mothers with lactostasis, cracked nipples and resuming breastfeeding after recovery from mastitis; weakened children with anemia, hypotrophy, rickets, diathesis and other manifestations of allergy; with whooping cough, especially if they have any disorders of bowel function.
- In the case of early transfer of infants to artificial feeding by donor milk.
- Acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of the colon and small intestine (colitis, enterocolitis) in older children and adults, occurring against the background of microflora disorders with a deficiency or absence of bifidoflora.
- Intestinal dysfunctions as a result of intestinal dysbacteriosis, which arose as a result of prolonged antibacterial, hormonal, radiation and other therapy, under stressful situations and in extreme conditions, as well as to prevent dysbacteriosis.
- In order to prevent mastitis for local treatment of the mammary glands of nursing mothers in the "at risk" group (in women with a flat nipple retracted, reducing its erection, the presence of cracks), in a difficult epidemiological situation in maternity hospitals.
In case of female genital diseases: 
- In case of violation of the purity of the vaginal secretions up to III — IV degree in pregnant women of the "risk" group.
- With bacterial colpitis caused by staphylococcus and Escherichia coli (in monoflora or in associations), as well as senile colpitis of a hormonal nature.

Dosage and administration

Inside 20-40 minutes before meals. Adults with inflammatory bowel diseases - 5 doses 2-3 times a day, children with intestinal diseases up to 6 months - 3 doses 3 times a day, children from 6 months to 1 year and older - 5 doses 2 times a day, newborns - 1–2 doses 3 times a day (from the first day of life to discharge); course - from 2–4 weeks to 3 months; prevention - 1-2 weeks; for children with infectious diseases, 2–3 doses 3 times a day for prophylaxis and up to 10 doses per day for stopping intestinal disorders.

Intravaginal - 5–10 doses once a day for 5–8 days.

Locally - tampon in the nipple for 20-30 minutes before feeding - 2-2.5 doses for 5 days.

Do not dissolve powder in hot water. It is impossible to use vials with compromised integrity, without labels, if the contents are drastically reduced in volume and have the appearance of a dark brown mass.
