Composition

Bicillin -3 powder for preparing injection solution for i / m administration:
1 bottle contains a mixture of benzathine benzylpenicillin, benzylpenicillin sodium (or potassium) salt and benzylpenicillin Novocaine salt 600 KU or 1.2 mln.EDU.

Mechanism of action

Bicillin-3 - prolonged action penicillin antibiotic. Bicillin is active against gram-positive microorganisms, including Staphylococcus spp. (Except for strains producing penicillinase), Streptococcus spp. (Including Streptococcus pneumoniae), Corynebacterium diphtheriae, anaerobic spore-forming rods Bacillus anthracis, some Gram-negative microorganisms (including Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Neisseria meningitidis), Actinomyces israelii, as well as Treponema spp. Not effective against viruses (causative agents of influenza, poliomyelitis, smallpox, etc.), mycobacterium tuberculosis, protozoa, rickettsia, fungi, as well as most gram-negative microorganisms.

Indications and usage

Infectious diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to the drug (especially if it is necessary to maintain a therapeutic concentration for a long time), including acute tonsillitis, scarlet fever, wound infections, erysipelas; rheumatism (prevention and treatment) caused by treponema (syphilis, yaws), leishmaniasis.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, (including to other penicillins and Bicillin components - 3).
With care - bronchial asthma, pollinosis, urticaria and other allergic diseases; hypersensitivity to various drugs, including to antibiotics and sulfonamides (in history).

Dosage and administration

V / m, deep, in the upper outer quadrant of the gluteus muscle (intravenous injection is prohibited).
Bicillin − 3 - at a dose of 300,000 U (if necessary, 2 injections are made into different buttocks). Repeated injections carried out on 4 days after the previous injection. At a dose of 600,000 units administered once every 6 days.

Adverse reactions

From the side of cardiovascular system and blood (blood formation, hemostasis): anemia, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, hypocoagulation.
Allergic reactions: rash on the skin and mucous membranes, urticaria, eosinophilia, pain in the joints, erythema multiforme, exfoliative dermatitis, angioedema, anaphylactic shock.
Others: headache, fever, arthralgia, stomatitis, glossitis, soreness at the injection site; with long-term therapy, superinfection caused by drug-resistant microorganisms and fungi.

Bicillin - 3 should not be allowed in / in the introduction (the development of Uanier syndrome is possible - the development of a feeling of depression, anxiety and visual impairment).
