The drug should be taken orally, without chewing, washing down with a small amount of liquid.
Adults. The effective daily dose is usually from 15 to 45 mg; the initial is 15 or 30 mg.
Elderly patients. The recommended dose is similar to that for adult patients. To achieve a satisfactory effect and to ensure safety, the dose increase in elderly patients should be carried out under the direct supervision of a physician.
Impaired renal function. The clearance of mirtazapine can be reduced in patients with moderate or severe renal impairment (Cl creatinine <40 ml / min). This should be considered when prescribing Calixt.® this group of patients.
Liver dysfunction. The clearance of mirtazapine can be reduced in patients with impaired liver function. This should be considered when prescribing Calixt.®this group of patients, especially in severe liver dysfunction, since the use of mirtazapine in this group of patients has not been studied.
Calixsta preparation® can be taken 1 time per day, preferably at the same time, before bedtime, or 2 times per day, dividing the daily dose into two doses (in the morning and at night, a higher dose should be taken at night). If possible, treatment should be continued for 4-6 months until the symptoms disappear; after that it can be gradually canceled.
Mirtazapin begins to have its effect usually after 1-2 weeks of treatment. Treatment with an adequate dose should lead to a positive result within 2-4 weeks. With insufficient clinical response to treatment, the dose may be increased to the maximum (45 mg). In the absence of a response to treatment for an additional 2-4 weeks, it should be discontinued.
