Active ingredient and dosage form
Ceraxon - solution for intravenous and intramuscular administration:
4 ml contain citicoline sodium 522.5 and 1045 mg, excipients: 1M hydrochloric acid or 1M sodium hydroxide to a pH of 6.7-7.1; water for injection - up to 4 ml; in the ampoules of neutral glass 4 ml each; in the blister pack of 3 ampoules; in a carton pack 1 pack or in a blister pack of 5 ampoules; in a cardboard bundle 1 or 2 packs;
Ceraxon - solution for oral administration 100 mg / ml:
1 fl. contains citicoline sodium 10.45 g, excipients: sorbitol; glycerol; methyl parahydroxybenzoate; propyl parahydroxybenzoate; glycerol formal; sodium citrate dihydrate; sodium saccharinate; crimson dye (Ponso 4-R); strawberry flavoring (strawberry essence 1487-S-Lucta); potassium sorbate; citric acid 50% solution; purified water - up to 100 ml;

Mechanism of action
Ceraxon has a nootropic effect.
Indications and usage
Acute ischemic stroke;
recovery period of ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes;
traumatic brain injury, acute and recovery period;
cognitive impairment in degenerative and vascular diseases of the brain.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any of the components of Cerakson;
patients with vagotonia (predominance of the parasympathetic component of the autonomic nervous system);
children under 18 years (due to lack of data).
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Controlled studies during pregnancy were not conducted. Although there was no evidence of a risk to the fetus when using the drug, during pregnancy the drug is prescribed only if the expected benefit outweighs the potential risk.
When prescribing Cerakson during lactation, women should stop breastfeeding, since there are no data on the allocation of citicoline with breast milk.
Adverse reactions

Dosage and administration
