Mechanism of action

Espa-lipon has hepatoprotective, detoxification, hypolipidemic, hypocholesterolemic, normalizing lipid and carbohydrate metabolism action. It stimulates the oxidative decarboxylation of pyruvic acid and alpha keto acids, participates in the regulation of lipid and carbohydrate metabolism, affects cholesterol metabolism; Espa-lipon as a whole, improves liver function (including detoxification), protects it from the action of exo- and endogenous factors.

Indications and usage

Diabetic polyneuropathy, steatohepatitis of various etiologies, chronic intoxication.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to alpha-lipoic acid, child age.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

The possibility of using Espa-lipon during pregnancy is determined by the attending physician. Breastfeeding should be discontinued for the duration of treatment (no data are available on whether alpha-lipoic acid is excreted in breast milk).

Dosage and administration

Solution for injection Espa-lipon (intended for IV injection / infusion after preliminary dilution in an isotonic solution of sodium chloride) - in the case of severe diabetic polyneuropathy for adults - IV / 24.448 ml drip, for teenagers - 12-24 ml solution for injection (which corresponds to receiving 600-1200 mg and 300-600 mg of alpha Lipoic acid, respectively) in 250 ml of isotonic sodium chloride solution once a day. Espa-lipon solution should be administered within 50 minutes. The course is 2-4 weeks, then you should go on supporting therapy with pills by adults - 600-1200 mg / day, for adolescents - 200-600 mg / day, for 3 months (minimum).

Perhaps in / m the introduction of Espa-lipon, in this case, the dose when injected in the same place should not exceed 50 mg (2 ml).

Adverse reactions

Allergic reactions: urticaria or eczema at the injection site; anaphylactic shock with rapid administration.

From the side of the central nervous system: convulsions, diplopia (in some cases, after a rapid on / in the introduction of Espa-lipon).

Hematopoietic system: point hemorrhages in the mucous membranes and skin, dysfunction of platelets (after intravenous administration in some cases).

Endocrine system: hypoglycemia (due to improved glucose uptake).

In case of violation of the technique of / in the introduction: a feeling of heaviness in the head and difficulty breathing with the introduction of Espa-lipon too fast.

The drug should be stored out of reach of children at a temperature not exceeding 20 ° C.
