Mechanism of action

ESTROCAD helps to restore normal vaginal epithelium during its atrophic changes during the premenopausal and postmenopausal periods, normalizes the pH and vaginal microflora, increases the resistance of the vaginal epithelium to infectious and inflammatory processes, affects the quality and quantity of cervical fluid. Slightly increases plasma volume, reduces blood cholesterol, increases the circulation time of corticosteroids.

Estrocad used in atrophy of the mucous membrane of the lower urethra caused by estrogen deficiency (dyspareunia, vaginal dryness, itching, frequent urination, mild urinary incontinence), before- and postoperative treatment of women in the postmenopausal period during vaginal access operations; during high tides and increased sweating at night during menopause; for the treatment of infertility caused by cervical factor.

Contraindications

Allergic reaction to steroids, thrombosis, embolism, abnormal liver function, estrogen-dependent tumors of the uterus or mammary glands, uterine bleeding of unknown etiology, otosclerosis. Severe itching or cholestatic jaundice, as well as an increase in their manifestations during pregnancy or on the background of the use of steroid drugs. Pregnancy.

Dosage and administration

The dose and duration of use are prescribed by the doctor. Recommended doses: with atrophy of the mucous membrane of the lower parts of the urethra - 0.5 mg (1 suppository) per day for 3 weeks (with atrophy of the mucous membrane of the genital organs) or within 2 months (with atrophy of the mucous membrane of the urinary tract) with a gradual decrease doses up to maintenance (0.5 mg - 1 mg (1 - 2 suppositories per week); with pre- and postoperative treatment in postmenopausal women with vaginal access operations - 0.5 mg (1 suppository) per day for 2 weeks before surgery0.5 mg (1 suppository) twice a week for 2 weeks after surgery; with climacteric disorders - 0.5 mg - 1 mg (1 - 2 suppositories) per day for 1 - 2 weeks with a gradual lowering of the dose to the minimum effective supportive; for infertility caused by cervical factor - 0.5 mg - 1 mg (1 - 2 suppositories) per day for 6 - 15th day of the menstrual cycle.

To prevent endometrial proliferation, the daily dose should not exceed 8 mg (16 suppositories).

Adverse reactions

Tension, coarsening or pain in the mammary glands, fluid retention, nausea, hypersecretion of cervical mucus, arterial hypertension, muscle cramps, headache, visual disturbances, pigment spots on the skin are possible.
