Mechanism of action

The drug is of plant origin, has expectorant, mucolytic and antispasmodic action, caused by glycosidic saponins from the group of triterpene glycosides. It facilitates (dilutes, accelerates and softens) sputum separation, improves breathing.

Indications and usage

Infectious and inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract and bronchi with difficult to separate sputum (acute and exacerbation of chronic): bronchitis, tracheobronchitis, bronchial asthma, bronchiectasis, bronchospasm, difficulty in expectoration of sputum and / or an increase in its viscosity, cough (including dry).

Inside, adults and children over 10 years old - 5 ml or 25-30 drops (1 ml = 30 drops) 3-4 times a day, which corresponds to 300-400 mg of the active substance. With acute symptoms, a single dose can be increased, or increase the frequency of administration. The minimum duration of treatment is 1 week; It is recommended to continue therapy for another 2-3 days after the disappearance of the symptoms of the disease. Children 4-10 years old - 2.5 ml 4 times a day, children 1-4 years old - 2.5 ml 3 times a day, children under 1 year old - 2.5 ml 2 times a day.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity.

Permissible turbidity and change in taste of the solution, due to the content in the preparation of extractives. Patients with diabetes should take into account that 5 ml of syrup contains 1.75 g of sorbitol (0.15 bread units).
