Active ingredient and dosage form

Coated tablets:
1 pill contains itoprid hydrochloride 50 mg;
in blister packs of 7, 10 or 14 pcs.; in a carton pack of 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 packs.

Mechanism of action

Ganaton has an effect. It stimulates the tone and motility of the digestive tract. Itopride hydrochloride enhances propulsive motility of the gastrointestinal tract due to antagonism with dopamine D2 receptors and dose-dependent inhibition of acetylcholinesterase activity. Itopide activates the release of acetylcholine and inhibits its destruction. Itopride hydrochloride has a specific effect on the upper GI tract, accelerates transit through the stomach and improves its emptying. Ganaton also has an anti-emetic effect due to interaction with D2-receptors located in the trigger zone. Itopride caused dose-dependent suppression of vomiting caused by apomorphine.

Indications and usage

Relief of functional symptoms of non-ulcer dyspepsia (chronic gastritis), such as abdominal distension, rapid satiety, pain or discomfort in the upper abdomen, anorexia, heartburn, nausea, vomiting.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to itopride or any auxiliary component of Ganaton, Gastrointestinal bleeding, mechanical obstruction or perforation of the gastrointestinal tract, pregnancy, lactation (breastfeeding), children under 16 years of age.

Dosage and administration

Inside, adults - 50 mg (1 tab.) 3 times / day before meals. The recommended daily dose of Ganaton is 150 mg. This dose may be reduced, taking into account the age of the patient.

Adverse reactions

From the hemopoietic system: leukopenia, thrombocytopenia.
On the part of the endocrine system: increased levels of prolactin, gynecomastia.
From the side of the central nervous system: dizziness, headache, tremor.
Gastrointestinal: diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, increased salivation, nausea, jaundice, increased activity of AST and ALT, gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT), alkaline phosphatase and bilirubin level. Allergic reactions: skin flushing, itchy skin, rash, anaphylaxis.

Special notes

In patients with glaucoma, it is recommended to periodically measure intraocular pressure. Owing to visual impairment and accommodation, there is a possibility of development of impaired ability to drive a car and machinery.

Store in a dry, dark place at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C.
