Pharmacokinetics

After ingestion is well absorbed in the small intestine. C_max in blood plasma is achieved 1-3 hours after taking the drug. Approximately 60% of the drug and its metabolites are excreted in the urine, 5% in the feces, and about 2% in the lungs. It can penetrate the placental barrier; in the milk of lactating women.

Indications

Combined therapy of inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract (acute and chronic bronchitis, sinusitis).

Contraindications

• hypersensitivity to the drug;
• cholelithiasis;
• urolithiasis disease;
• bronchial asthma;
• I trimester of pregnancy;
• lactation period;
• children's age up to 10 years.

Pregnanacy and breastfeeding

In the absence of special studies during pregnancy (II – III trimester), it should be used with caution as prescribed by a doctor, provided that the intended benefits to the mother outweigh the potential risk to the fetus.

Active ingredient

Active substance: myrtol standardized 300 mg;

Excipients: medium chain triglycerides; gelatin; glycerol; sorbitol; hydrochloric acid 13%

Enteric coating: hypromellose acetate succinate; triethyl acetate; sodium lauryl sulfate; talc; dextrin; ammonium glycyrrhizinate.

Dosage and administration

Adults and children over 10 years

Adults: in acute inflammation, 1 capsule 3-4 times a day; in chronic inflammation - 1 capsule 2 times a day; to facilitate the discharge of sputum in the morning - an additional 1 capsule at bedtime.

Children from 10 to 18 years: in acute inflammation - 1 capsule 2 times a day; with chronic inflammation - 1 capsule per day.

The duration of treatment depends on the severity of symptoms of the disease and is determined by the attending physician.

Adverse effects

Allergic reactions (itching, skin rash, swelling of the face, bronchospasm), shortness of breath, tachycardia, dry mouth, stomach pain, flatulence, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, increased mobility of kidney stones and gall bladder are possible.

Overdosage

Symptoms: in case of an accidental overdose, nausea, vomiting, convulsions are possible, in severe cases - coma or respiratory failure. In rare cases, after severe intoxication, violations of the CAS are possible.

Treatment: the appointment of vaseline oil in a dose of 3 ml / kg; gastric lavage with 5% sodium bicarbonate solution (baking soda); oxygen ventilation.
