Mechanism of action

Intetrix - the pharmacological effect in chronic amoebiasis is achieved through the synergism of the amebicidal action of 3 antiseptic substances that make up the Intetrix. The drug acts in the intestinal lumen and is used to treat intestinal amebiasis. The intrix is ​​effective against vegetative forms of amebiasis, has a broad antimicrobial (bactericidal and bacteriostatic) spectrum of action against: S.Faecalis, E.coli 111.B4, S.enteritidis Danysz. S. Paratyphy B, Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Proteus vulgaris, Vibrio cholerae Ogava, Vibrio cholerae Inaba, Serratia marcescens, etc., as well as anti-bending action against C.albicans. The intrix does not cause plasmid resistance and does not disturb the balance of the normal intestinal microflora.

Indications and usage

- Intestinal amebiasis in adults.
- As part of complex therapy with tissue amebicides.
- Monotherapy of asymptomatic cases of diagnosed amebiasis.

Contraindications

Individual sensitivity to the ingredients of the drug. It is not recommended to use the drug during pregnancy.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

During pregnancy and during breastfeeding, the question of treatment with Intetrix is ​​decided individually in accordance with the patient's condition.

Dosage and administration

Dosage 2 capsules in the morning and 2 capsules in the evening for 10 days.

Reception method Inside. Take capsules whole, preferably at the beginning of a meal, drinking plenty of water.

Adverse reactions

Rarely, skin reactions such as urticaria, Quincke edema, and persistent erythema pigment may occur.

Extremely rarely, in cases of long-term use of the drug, peripheral neuropathy and transient disorders of the optic nerve can be observed.

Rarely when taking the drug may increase the content of transaminases.

Special notes

With an increase in transaminase activity (AST, ALT), especially in liver failure, it is necessary to discontinue the drug treatment.

Prolonged use of Intetrix is ​​inappropriate due to the risk of peripheral neuropathy.

When conducting animal studies, no teratogenic effect was detected. Currently, there is not enough data to assess the potential risk of congenital malformations or the phototoxic effect of the drug when administered during pregnancy. Studies of the effect of the drug on lactation in animals have not been conducted.

Therefore, the use of Intetrix during pregnancy and during breastfeeding is undesirable. In the presence of habitual miscarriages, the use of the drug is not recommended, as this condition requires careful observation and well-planned prenatal monitoring.

Drug interactions

The drug should not be prescribed simultaneously with drugs containing hydroxyquinolines.
