Mechanism of action

Iodine has a local irritating, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effect.

Forms iodamines and destroys microorganisms, being absorbed, actively influences the metabolism, enhancing the processes of de-stimulation; helps to reduce cholesterol levels in the blood.

Indications and usage

The solution is used externally:

• for antiseptic skin treatment.
• for the treatment of the hands of surgeons and other persons participating in surgical interventions in medical institutions (including dental organizations, maternity hospitals, etc.).
• for treating the skin before injections, blood sampling, puncture, biopsy, transfusion, infusion and other manipulations associated with the violation of the integrity of the skin.
• for treatment of the skin of the surgical field before surgery.
• with bacterial, fungal and viral infections of the skin.

Contraindications

It is not recommended to apply to persons with individual hypersensitivity to iodine (iodism). Hypersensitivity; for oral administration - pulmonary tuberculosis, nephritis, furunculosis, acne, chronic pyoderma, hemorrhagic diathesis, urticaria; pregnancy, child age (up to 5 years).

Special notes

Use for external use only. At occurrence of the first signs of side effects, use the remedy immediately.

Dosage and administration

The solution is used externally as an antiseptic, irritant and distracting agent.

Adverse reactions

Iodism (runny nose, angioedema, salivation, watery eyes, acne on the skin, etc.)

Drug Interactions

Pharmaceutically incompatible with essential oils, ammonia solutions, white sedimentary mercury (an explosive mixture is formed). Alkaline or acidic environment, the presence of fat, pus, blood weaken antiseptic activity. Weakens hypothyroid and strumogenic effect of lithium preparations.

Storage conditions

Store in a cool place out of reach of children, separately from medicines.
