Mechanism of action

Klymen - a combined preparation containing estrogen - estradiol valerate and an antiandrogen - cyproterone acetate, which has gestagenic properties. It is a means of hormone replacement therapy that replenishes the lack of sex hormones in a woman’s body. Hormone replacement therapy reduces or eliminates the symptoms of menopausal disorders, with long-term use has a preventive effect on the development of osteoporosis and cardiovascular diseases.
Klymene well controls the menstrual cycle and therefore may be useful for women with irregular menstruation or in cases where menstruation is absent and pregnancy or organic causes of the absence of menstruation are excluded. Climen can cause regular monthly bleeding, even if the woman has already run out of natural menstruation.
Estradiol valerate eliminates or reduces the symptoms that appear due to a decrease in perimenopausal estrogen levels, such as hot flashes, sweating, sleep disturbances, irritability, depressions, memory disorders, vascular crises, atrophic degenerative changes of the skin and mucous membranes (increased fragility of the nails, thinning of the skin and the formation of wrinkles, dryness of the mucous membranes of the urogenital tract), involuntary urination, osteoporosis and increased fragility of the bones, changes in lipid metabolism, Significant increase in LDL levels, which cause atherosclerotic changes in the vessels.
Cyproterone acetate, due to the presence of gestagenic properties, contributes to secretory changes in the proliferating epithelium of the uterus and other target organs, which stops the further development of proliferative processes leading to the development of hyperplasia, in particular, the growth of hormone-dependent progesterone-deficient tumors.Cyproterone acetate, due to the presence of antiandrogenic activity, reduces the effects of androgenization in patients. Virtually no effect on lipid metabolism, which contributes to a more complete implementation of the prophylactic effect of estradiol valerate in relation to cardiovascular diseases in menopause.
