Active ingredient and dosage form

Lopedium - tablets: 1 tab. contains Loperamide hydrochloride 2 mg, excipients: Calcium phosphate; lactose; Magnesium stearate; corn starch; poly (o-carboxymethyl) starch sodium, silicon dioxide; in the package 10, 20 or 50 pcs.

Lopedium - capsules: 1 caps. contains loperamide hydrochloride 2 mg, excipients: gelatin; lactose; magnesium stearate; corn starch; talc; dye E110, E127, E131, E132, E171; Pack of 10, 30 or 50 pcs.

Mechanism of action

Lopedium has an antidiarrheal effect.

Indications and usage

Acute and chronic diarrhea (symptomatic treatment).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, intestinal obstruction, diarrhea with blood and high temperature, colitis (acute ulcerative and pseudomembranous, caused by antibiotics), chronic diarrhea, pregnancy, breastfeeding (breastfeeding should be suspended), early childhood up to 12 years.

Adverse reactions

Headache, dizziness, fatigue, abdominal cramps, nausea, dry mouth, constipation, skin rash. Rarely - the closure of the intestinal lumen and the formation of toxic megacolon.

Dosage and administration

Lopedium is taken orally. Adults, 4 mg, then 2 mg after each episode of diarrhea. The maximum daily dose is 16 mg.

Children over 6 years old - 2 mg after each bowel movement in the case of liquid stool. The maximum daily dose is 6 mg. The duration of treatment is not more than 2 days.

Storage conditions

In a dry, dark place at a temperature of no higher than 25 ° C. Shelf life - 5 years.
