Mechanism of action

Mustard plaster package is a local irritant, whose action is due to reflex reactions that occur in connection with irritation of the nerve endings of the skin.

Indications and usage

Mustard pills are used for acute respiratory infections; bronchitis, pneumonia; myalgia, neuralgia, lumbago, sprains, osteochondrosis; cardialgia.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, violation of the integrity of the skin, pyoderma, atopic dermatitis (common neurodermatitis), eczema, psoriasis, hyperthermia.

Dosage and administration

Outwardly. Mustard plaster package universal down, without changing the position in the water, heated to a temperature of 37 ° C for 15-20 seconds, then impose on the skin. To enhance the effect, the mustard plaster is covered with plastic wrap and tightly pressed to the body with an elastic bandage or other dressing. The time of the procedure is 5-20 minutes (until the appearance of persistent red), in children 2, 3, 5 or 10 minutes, depending on the age of the child, the irritant effect and the individual sensitivity of the patient. If you feel a strong burning sensation, it is necessary to loosen the mustard grip against the body for some time or remove it by washing with water the area of ​​the skin to which it was applied.
