Rectal suppositories

Composition

1 rectal suppository contains: inactivated microbial cells of E. coli 1000 million, Hydrocortisone 5 mg.
Excipients: acetylcysteine, α-tocopherol, disodium edetate, macrogolglycerol hydroxystearate, solid fat, phenol (preservative).

Packing

In the blister 5 suppositories. In the box 2 blisters.

Mechanism of action

Posterisan forte - a drug with anti-inflammatory and immunostimulating action for local use.
Cell wall antigens and metabolic products of Escherichia coli, when in contact with the rectal mucosa and the skin of the anogenital region, increase local tissue resistance to the effects of pathogenic microflora. The drug stimulates the T-system of immunity, phagocytic activity of leukocytes and cells of the reticuloendothelial system, non-specific factors of immunity, reduces exudation during inflammation, normalizes the permeability and tone of blood vessels, stimulates the regeneration of damaged tissue.
When applied topically, hydrocortisone has anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects. When applied to the affected surface reduces swelling, hyperemia, itching.

Indications and usage

Suppositories are prescribed for adults with the following diseases:
- Persistent course of hemorrhoids.
- Anal itching, especially resistant to other drugs.
- Anopapillite.
- Anal fissure.

Contraindications

- Bacterial infections in the treatment area, for example: tuberculosis, syphilis, gonorrhea.
- Fungal infections in the treatment area.
- Hypersensitivity to hydrocortisone or other components of the drug.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

There is no evidence that when using the drug Posterisan Forte, hydrocortisone penetrates the placental barrier or is excreted in breast milk.To date, no information has been found indicating the damaging effect of the drug on the fetus. However, the drug Posterisan Forte, like all drugs, should be used during pregnancy and lactation only as directed by a physician.

Dosage and administration

Rectally. Rectal suppositories are used in the morning and evening, as well as after each act of defecation. Perhaps the combined use of ointments and suppositories. The course of treatment lasts 2-3 weeks.

Adverse reactions

Allergic reactions are possible in patients with hypersensitivity to phenol. With prolonged use in high doses, the development of systemic effects characteristic of glucocorticoids cannot be ruled out.

Special notes

Phenol is used as a preservative in the preparation.

Drug interactions

With simultaneous use with other drugs containing corticosteroids (tablets, drops or solutions for injection) can mutually enhance the actions or side effects.
