A perennial herbaceous plant of the Rosaceae family up to 30 cm in height. The rhizome is thick, woody, almost horizontal, red, yellowish-white inside. Stem thin, ascending, branched. The leaves are trifoliate, alternate, sessile; basal - three- and pyatipalchatye, with petiole. Blooms on the 5-7th year of life. It blooms from late May to October. Flowers solitary, yellow, located on long stalks. The fruit is a multi-nut splitting into separate nuts. It ripens in June - October.

Potentilla erect is common in the European part of Russia, in the Caucasus and in Western Siberia

Propagated by seeds and segments of rhizomes
