Active ingredient and dosage form

SimvaGEKSAL - coated tablets:

1 tab. contains Simvastatin 5, 10, 20, 30 and 40 mg; Packed in 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 pcs.

Mechanism of action

Simvageksal has a hypolipidemic effect.

Indications and usage

Hypercholesterolemia: primary hypercholesterolemia (type IIa and IIb) with the ineffectiveness of diet therapy with low cholesterol and other non-drug measures (exercise and weight loss) in patients with an increased risk of coronary atherosclerosis; combined hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia, which are not amenable to correction with a special diet and exercise.

IHD: prevention of myocardial infarction (secondary prevention of myocardial infarction) in patients with elevated cholesterol (> 5.5 mmol / l).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to simvastatin or to other components of SimvAGEXAL, as well as to other statin drugs (HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors) in history; liver failure, acute liver disease, persistent increase in liver transaminases of unknown etiology; violation of the formation of red blood cells (porphyria); skeletal muscle diseases (myopathy); simultaneous administration of Ketoconazole, itraconazole (systemic antifungal medications), means for treating HIV infection; pregnancy, breastfeeding.

Adverse reactions

Digestive system: possible abdominal pain, constipation, flatulence, nausea, diarrhea, dyspepsia, pancreatitis, vomiting, hepatitis, increased activity of hepatic transaminases, alkaline phosphokinase and creatine phosphokinase (CPK).

Nervous system and sensory organs: asthenic syndrome, headache, dizziness, insomnia, muscle cramps, paresthesias, peripheral neuropathy, blurred vision, taste disturbances.

Allergic and immunopathological reactions: rarely - angioedema, rheumatic polymyalgia, vasculitis, thrombocytopenia, increased ESR, fever, arthritis, urticaria, photosensitization, skin flushing, hot flashes, shortness of breath, lupus-like syndrome, eosinophilia.

Dermatological reactions: rarely - skin rash, itching, alopecia.

On the part of the musculoskeletal system: myopathy, myalgia, weakness; rarely - rhabdomyolysis.

Other: anemia, palpitations, acute renal failure (due to rhabdomyolysis), reduced potency.

Dosage and administration

Simvageksal accept inside, washing down with enough water, once a day in the evening. The initial dose is from 5 to 10 mg / day.

Storage conditions
