Active ingredient and dosage form

Tenox pills:
1 tab. contains Amlodipine (in the form of maleate) 5 and 10 mg;
Excipients: MCC; pregelatinized starch; sodium starch glycolate; silicon colloidal oxide anhydrous; Magnesium stearate;
in packing of 30 and 90 pieces.

Mechanism of action

Tenox has a hypotensive, antianginal effect.

Indications and usage

Arterial hypertension (monotherapy or in combination with other antihypertensive drugs);
stable and vasospastic stenocardia (Prinzmetal's stenocardia).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to amlodipine and other dihydropyridine derivatives;
severe hypotension;
collapse;
cardiogenic shock;
pregnancy;
lactation period;
age up to 18 years (efficacy and safety have not been established).

Dosage and administration

Tenox is taken orally.
In hypertension, the initial dose is 5 mg 1 time / day; maintenance - 2.5–5 mg / day; the maximum is 10 mg / day.
With angina pectoris and angiospastic angina pectoris, the drug is prescribed in a dose of 5–10 mg / day in a single dose.
Patients with reduced body weight or short stature, elderly people, in violation of liver function as a hypotensive agent, Tenox is prescribed in an initial dose of 2.5 mg, as an antiangial agent in a dose of 5 mg.
When using Tenox as part of combination therapy with thiazide diuretics, β-blockers and ACE inhibitors, dose adjustment is not required.
When prescribing the drug to patients with renal insufficiency, no changes in dosage regimen are required.

Adverse reactions

Since the cardiovascular system: heartbeat, shortness of breath, marked reduction in blood pressure, fainting, vasculitis, edema (swelling of the ankles and feet), flushing of the face, rarely - rhythm disturbances (bradycardia, ventricular tachycardia, atrial flutter), chest pain, orthostatic hypotension, very rarely - development or aggravation of heart failure, extrasystoles, migraine.
