Cefecon^® H rectal suppositories. 5 suppositories in blisters; one or two blister strip packagings along with instructions for medical use of the drug in a carton box.

Active ingredient

• as active substances: Naproxen 0.075 g, caffeine 0.05 g, salicylamide 0.6 g;
• as excipients: Witepsol - a sufficient amount to obtain a suppository weighing from 2.09 to 2.31 g.

Description

Suppositories are white or white with a yellowish or creamy shade of color, torpedo-shaped.

Pharmacological properties

Cefecon^® H - a combined drug, has analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effect. Naproxen and salicylamide are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, the mechanism of action of which is associated with inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis and influence on the thermoregulation center in the hypothalamus. Caffeine has a psychostimulant, analeptic and antispasmodic effect on smooth muscles, stimulates the striated muscles, reduces platelet aggregation and releases histamine from mast cells.

Indications

• as an anesthetic for pain of mild to moderate severity: neuralgia, myalgia, sciatica, lumbago; degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the musculoskeletal system (osteochondrosis, osteoarthrosis, ankylosing spondylitis); headache, toothache, migraine; primary algomenorrhea;
• as a febrifuge: febrile syndrome with colds, infectious, inflammatory diseases.

Contraindications

Increased sensitivity to the drug, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcers (acute phase), bleeding, severe kidney and / or liver failure, arterial hypertension, organic diseases of the cardiovascular system, chronic heart failure, anxiety, insomnia, angle-closure glaucoma, bronchial (in t.ch. due to the intake of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), elderly and children (up to 16 years) age, pregnancy, lactac period and.

Dosage and administration

Rectally.The suppository is freed from the contour cellular packaging and after spontaneous bowel emptying or a cleansing enema is injected deep into the rectum and 1 suppository 1-3 times a day. After the suppository is inserted, it is necessary to stay in a horizontal position for 30–40 minutes.
The duration of treatment without consulting a doctor is not more than 5 days when prescribed as an anesthetic and 3 days as an antipyretic.

Adverse Effects

Side effects are mild and do not require cessation of therapy or any medical manipulation: allergic reactions, dizziness, agitation, drowsiness, slowing the speed of psychomotor reactions, tinnitus, tachycardia, high blood pressure, thrombocytopenia, granulocytopenia, aplastic anemia, violation liver and / or kidney function; itching and pain in the rectum.

Interaction with other drugs

Cefecon^® H reduces the hypotensive effect of beta-blockers, ACE inhibitors; enhances the action of anticoagulants, oral hypoglycemic agents - sulfonylurea derivatives.

Special notes

If itching or discomfort in the rectum, it is necessary to rectally inject 15 ml of sunflower oil (1 tablespoon) and temporarily discontinue the use of the drug.
